Taylor Design received three awards in the 2014 UCDA Competition. The winning entries included the Spring 2014 issue of “Sarah Lawrence” magazine designed by Hannah Fichandler, the 2014 “Incredibly Sarah Lawrence” admissions poster designed by Hannah Fichandler and Vaughn Fender, and the Winter 2014 issue of Columbia Business School’s “Ideas at Work” publication (below), designed by Stephanie Mullins.

Taylor Design received four awards in the 2014 American Graphic Design Awards Competition, presented by Graphic Design USA Magazine. The projects honored include the winter 2014 issue of the alumni magazine for Sarah Lawrence College designed by Hannah Fichandler, a recruitment poster designed by Hannah Fichandler and Vaughn Fender, a case statement for Greenwich Academy designed by Stephanie Mullins Mullins, and the 2014 Taylor Design holiday calendar designed by Steve Habersang and illustrated by Vaughn Fender.

Our studio’s work earned awards at the 2014 Annual CT Art Directors Club Awards Show on June 12th at the New Haven Country Club, including a gold award for the 2013 CADC Awards Competition campaign; three silver awards for the MasterCard Career Development Center website, the fall 2013 issue of Sarah Lawrence College’s alumni magazine, and the 2013 Sarah Lawrence College Admissions poster; and the “Spirit of Creativity” award for the 2013 CADC Awards Competition campaign. Vaughn, Hannah, and Bria stacked some hardware at our studio’s table.

This year’s Stamford Boys & Girls Club 5K took place in the South End of town, starting and ending at Commons Park. It was raining hard a half hour before the race, but faded out as the starting gun sounded. Our runners included Packie Mulvany, Steve Habersang, Mark Barrett, and Dan Taylor, Mike DeRepentigny, and Clem and Tyler Pascarella. Mark, below, nears the finish line at mile marker three. Team Taylor Design finished 17th out of 100 teams. Over $180,000 was raised to benefit the Stamford Boys & Girls Club.

Creativity International announced that our work has been chosen as a winner in the 2014 Creativity Media & Interactive Competition. The winning entry in the business-to-business new media category was the Freepoint Commodities website, which was designed by Steve Habersang, written by Tony Pucca, and developed by Chris Yerkes.

Taylor Design hosted a “Party @ Our Space” open house on Thursday April 10. Over fifty area designers, illustrators, writers, and other partners joined us to talk shop, chew on some munchies catered by Seasons, and drink some local Two Roads brew imported from Stratford. Dan Taylor gave a presentation that showcased the design team’s various projects, from a bakery in Old Greenwich to Merrill Lynch in New York City. “Party @ Our Space” is coordinated by AIGA Brand Central, which serves the branding creative community in NYC Metro area and throughout the country. Steve Varvaro and Dave Elovich of Cascade Papers, the event sponsor, was on hand to share samples and entice visitors to try their hand in an interactive video game.

A package that we designed for Good To Go has been named a winner in the 2014 American Package Design Awards. The creative team included writer Dean Hacohen, designer John Rudolph, and illustrator Vaughn Fender. In addition to the identity and packaging, Taylor Design also developed the e-commerce website at www.begoodtogo.com. The product got its start at Whole Foods supermarkets in Connecticut in 2013 and the company is expanding throughout the country. The package will be published in the GDUSA Package Design Awards Annual.

Our studio’s 2014 “Better Together” Calendar is being featured in the PaperSpecs Gallery. The piece was designed by Steve Habersang, written by Stacey Resnikoff, illustrated by Vaughn Fender, and printed by Printech. PaperSpecs is an online paper database specifically developed for the design and print industries. The company researches and collects the latest facts and data about available papers and makes it available to users anytime, anywhere.

A direct mail piece created for Brunswick School called “Character” won an award in the Annual Giving category of the 2014 CASE District I awards competition. It was written by Dan Griffin, Director of Institutional Communications at the school, designed by Hannah Fichandler and Ryan Crane, with photographs by Jeffry Konczal.
