A Visit to the Vignelli Center Reunion weekend at RIT, where grads Dan and Nora toured the Vignelli Center for Design Studies (https://www.rit.edu/vignellicenter/), which holds the archives of Vignelli Associates. Massimo Vignelli once said “I believe that a designer should be able to design anything, from a spoon to a city, because the basic discipline of design is one; the only things that change are the specifics.” So true!
One of our entries, the Taylor Design 2023 calendar, has been selected to be published in Creative Quarterly in the graphic design category. The piece was art directed by Nora and Dan, designed by Bria, written by Philip, and illustrated by Steve.
Our team earned five awards at the 47th Annual Connecticut Art Directors Club Awards Show, including the Cheshire Academy admissions campaign, Taylor Design 2023 calendar, Brand Rehab book, Lake Champlain Clean Water Commitment website, and The Wilmington Group identity program. The new location of this year’s Stamford Boys & Girls Club Corporate 5K was one block from our studio at Mill River Park. Over 1,500 runners participated this year. Dan Taylor (at left) took third place in the CEO division and Nora Vaivads finished sixth in her division. Over $200,000 were raised to benefit the Stamford Boys & Girls Club, which serves more than 1,600 children ages 6-18, offering programs and services to promote and enhance youth development.
The mental health campaign that we developed with The O’Keefe Group for United Rentals earned a 2023 Gold Quill Award of Excellence from IABC. The official list of awardees is available on their website. Written by Philip Davidson and designed by Steve Habersang.
The winter 2022 issue of Brigham Health magazine earned a gold medal in the AAMC Group on Institutional Advancement (GIA) Awards for Excellence competition, which honors communications that advance medicine, research, and education in academic medical centers. On Thursday December 1st, we celebrated our 30th anniversary and the 2022 holiday season with current and former team members, creative partners, and clients at our studio. Great food was catered by Seasons, beverages were supplied by Buy the Bottle, and the event was capped with a fun look back presentation by Dan. Thanks everyone for joining us for a wonderful evening!
Taylor Design created the t-shirt that was used as a gift for participants in the AIGA CT’s Make-A-Thon 2022. The event is a 12-hour design marathon that partners local nonprofits with creative and strategic-minded professionals to produce quality marketing materials, pro bono. Make-A-Thon was held on June 25, 2022 at Digital Surgeons in New Haven, CT.
