American Graphic Design Awards Competition

Taylor Design received two awards in the 2011 American Graphic Design Awards Competition, presented by Graphic Design USA Magazine. The projects honored include the new website for the Long Island Sound Study and the alumni magazine for Sarah Lawrence College.

Ryan Joins the Team

Ryan Crane began his career at Taylor Design as a summer intern between his junior and senior years at the University of Connecticut, where he was working on a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. Previously, he worked as a design intern at the Affinion Group in Norwalk and a web assistant at Alvarez Photography in Trumbull. Upon his graduation in December 2010, he joined us as a freelance designer and became full time in August 2011. Ryan has been developing communications for Right Management, Iona College, and MasterCard.

Talk to Me at MoMA

We closed the office early on Thursday to visit the new “Talk to Me” show at MoMA. The exhibition focuses on objects that involve direct interactions, such as interfaces, information systems, and communication devices, and on projects that establish emotional and intellectual connections with their users. It is an impressive collection and provides rich insights into what’s coming next for all things digital. The show runs until November 7, 2011. For more information visit MoMA.

MasterCard Interns Create “Priceless” Videos at our Studio

Taylor Design was asked to assist the MasterCard Onboarding team with the development of the first annual summer internship video competition, themed “My Priceless Summer.” Ten teams of college interns were formed, with each group given a video camera and instructions to shoot footage during June and July. In August, Taylor Design hosted the intern teams at our studio, teaching each group how to edit their videos, add music, and animate type. The finished videos were judged by an expert panel and three winners were selected. Congratulations teams and best of luck senior year.

John Hangs at Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery

Two of John Rudolph‘s photographs were chosen to be included in the Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery “Thank You” show. This exhibition features local artists exclusively from Stamford and is meant to thank the city for its support for the new venture. Opening on July 29, the show runs through September 4. 2011 Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards Show

Taylor Design is pleased to announce that we received ten awards at the 2011 Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards show at the Boathouse, Hartford on Thursday, June 16. The winners include the 2011 advertising campaign for Muehlstein, the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup report, the Keep America Beautiful 2010 annual report, Sarah Lawrence College alumni magazine, Mount Sinai Science & Medicine magazine, Holy Family University identity program, sales tools and website for Allegient Systems, the Taylor Design holiday card, the Right Management holiday card, and the Long Island Sound Study website.

FCA Annual Report Wins a Silver Medal

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Westchester/ Fairfield Chapter, has announced that Taylor Design has earned a Silver Mercury Award for the 2010 Family and Children’s Agency Annual Report titled “Making an Impact: Realizing Life’s Possibilities.” The report was organized and written by Tamara Cannon, FCA’s Director of Marketing and Communications, and designed by Steve Habersang.

Sarah Lawrence College Magazine Wins Award in CASE Competition

Sarah Lawrence College Magazine received a bronze medal for General Interest Magazines, circulation 29,999 and fewer, in The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) 2011 Circle of Excellence Competition. This award recognizes magazines as a whole, including writing, design, and production. Experts agree that Sarah Lawrence is one of the best small-college magazines in the country. Kudos to Hannah Fichandler for design and Suzanne Gray for editing.

Team Taylor Design races in the 2011 RFR Realty Corporate 5K Run

From a field of over 1,500 competitors, John Rudolph placed 185, Mike De Repentigny placed 445, and Ryan Crane placed 590, and Patricia Kostiuk placed 1129 in the 17th Annual RFR Realty Corporate 5K Race. This year’s event was extremely successful and the organization was able to raise $126,000 to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
