2018 Stamford Boys & Girls Club 5k

The 2018 Stamford Boys & Girls Club 5K attracted over 2,000 runners. Our team this year included (from left to right) Dan Taylor, Hannah Fichandler, Cindy Lau, Laura Croft, Chris Yerkes, Iris Tao, Bria Caso, Kat Hall, Steve Habersang, and Connie Tao. Over $200,000 was raised to benefit the Stamford Boys & Girls Club.

2018 American Web Design Award Winner

We received notice from GDUSA Magazine that our work was selected as winners in the 2018 American Web Design Awards competition. The projects chosen were the Ideal Fish website designed by Steve Habersang, written by James MacKnight, and programmed by Chris Yerkes; and the River Road Waste website designed by Steve Habersang, written by Jennifer Covello and Jennifer Bernheim, photography by Danny Sanchez, and programmed by Hannah Wool.

2018 HOW International Design Awards

Our Unsolved Mysteries calendar was selected as a winner in the HOW International Design Awards competition. Concepted by our staff, designed by Bria, and illustrated by Cindy, the piece will be featured in the Spring 2018 issue of HOW Magazine.

Hosting Studio Socials at Our Studio

The Connecticut Art Directors Club kicked off its Studio Socials series at Taylor Design on February 21st. A gathering of over fifty people swapped stories, talked shop, drank beer, and saw a presentation of some of our recent work. Our colleague Bria is a CADC board member and spearheaded this new initiative.

AIGA’s Emerging Professionals Workshop

Dan, Iris, and Cindy volunteered their time at AIGA CT’s Emerging Professionals Workshop on February 10 at Central Connecticut State University. It was a full day of portfolio reviews, networking, roundtable lunches, and panel discussions. Iris was one of four participants on the recent graduates panel, Dan was the moderator of the seasoned professionals panel, and both Cindy and Iris were reviewers for the student portfolio session.

Congratulations from the AAMC

We were notified by the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Institutional Advancement that our entries for the Brigham and Women’s Print Magazine as well as the Online Magazine have been chosen to receive awards in the Awards for Excellence competition. The publications were designed by Steve Habersang and the online magazine was developed by Hannah Wool.

We Love Art and Beer

CONNArtist 2017 sponsored a poster contest for Two Roads Brewery. Designers Cindy Lau and Steve Habersang created and submitted entries for consideration. Steve’s poster placed second in overall voting and he was invited to the awards ceremony. His reward for his efforts—free beer all night. Well done!

We received notice from GDUSA Magazine that our work was selected as a winner in the 2017 American Graphic Design Awards competition. The project chosen was All About Muehlstein, a sales book created for the company. The piece was designed by Steve Habersang, illustrated by Kate Bingaman Burt, and written by Philip Davidson and Damian Mullin.

AIGA Connecticut’s Mingle + Muse

Several of us attended Mingle + Muse, the seasonal kick-off event of AIGA Connecticut, at Bridgeport’s new Brewport on September 27. It was a good chance to catch up with friends in the design business and chat with AIGA CT board members Karen Butler (president), Randy Herbertson, and Dan Taylor.
